I bet you think sales is an easy job. Guess again, buddy.

Selling isn't just telling people how great your product is. That's just the front end, the real business is behind the curtain. To work effectively I need to aggressively seek prospects, track them and keep them interested. I need determine which leads are viable. Customer satisfaction is another high priority, so I keep in touch with ALL of my customers and make sure they're happy. On business trips, I have record every expense and report them when I get back to the office.

And that, my friends, concludes our visit to the tip of the iceberg.

Fortunately, our Fearless Leader invested in Tracker Suite, an application suite that takes care of most of my headaches. The modules I use most are:

Prospect TrackerProspect Tracker - This is the perfect storage area for all of my leads. It helps me to keep track of my leads in a centralized place, and also allows me to track them by industry as well as by probability of close. It also allows me to build organized files where I can track activities and correspondence. I can create and maintain my lead profiles, projections and pipeline data. I can also utilize marketing documentation as needed during the sales cycle. When I get a lead, I need to accept or decline quickly so that we provide solid service to our prospect. As I work with my prospects, I need to manage my tickler list and follow up on any necessary activities I also need to create and file any correspondence in my prospects' portfolios and assign tasks as necessary to sales support staff.


Customer TrackerCustomer Tracker - Because I have a lot of customers, it is sometimes difficult to ensure that they are getting all of the attention they need. Through Customer Tracker, I can track sales contracts, purchase agreements and customer service issues, all in one place. I use Customer Tracker to generate sales contracts and hand them off to Accounting in a timely manner. I also manage customer contacts and maintain detailed, on-line records containing all of our customer information.


Expense TrackerExpense Tracker - I'm on the road so much that keeping track of my 'expense file' often results in an envelope full of receipts that I have to organize when I get home. With Expense Tracker, I can enter my expenses on a regular basis using simple expense reports and submit them whenever I wish.


Support TrackerSupport Tracker - This comes in great when I'm having trouble with my laptop or if I have questions about our new telephone system. But it really helps my sales when I can look in the database and see the typical questions and problems users have with the system I'm selling, so that I can address them when I make my pitches..
